NE PEZ Con + NE Candy Collector Expo

NE PEZ Con- DEALERS PLEASE READ- The early dealer table reservation deadline for the 12th Annual Northeast PEZ Collectors Gathering and the Northeast Candy Collector Expo is Monday Feb 15th. If you are planning on coming, please let me know. Due to the new “candy vendors” I will have to work on the floor plan soon so we can make everyone fit.
NE PEZ Con/Candy Expo attendees-The deadline for early convention packet (attend/absentee) registration and discounted hotel rooms is March 1st. After March 1st the prices increase by $10, so please send in early. It will be held again in Stamford CT on April 8, 9, 10, 2010 but in a different hotel than last year. This time it will be at the old Sheraton Stamford Hotel which is now called the “Stamford Plaza Hotel and Conference Center” www.stamfordplazahotel.com . When booking your hotel room please make sure you book under the PEZ group. Hopefully we will make our room booking quota and we can return to this hotel again in 2011. Everyone was happy with this hotel in the past.
The big change is we are opening up the Saturday show/room hopping to all candy collectibles. More dealers, more candy collectibles! Our Saturday public show has always been busy, so it should be really busy. So please make your plans and reservations early!

Candy Collector Expo in CT 3 months away!

It’s now less than 3 months until the Northeast Candy Collector Expo & 12th Annual Northeast PEZ Collectors Gathering. It’s time to make plans. The deadline for convention packet registration and discounted hotel rooms is March 1st and early dealer registration deadline is Feb 15th.

Due to not booking enough hotel rooms last year we had to make several changes. It will be held again in Stamford CT on April 8, 9, 10, 2010. This time it will be at the old Sheraton Stamford Hotel which is now called the “Stamford Plaza Hotel and Conference Center” http://www.stamfordplazahotel.com . Courthouse made out of PEZ Candy

Chuck Gameon is a Principal that the Choteau Elementary School in Choteau Montana. Readers may know his name from the classified ads in PEZ Collectors News. He collects PEZ and looks for donations of PEZ dispensers. He gives PEZ dispensers to the children as rewards for various things.
Earlier in the school year Chuck came up with the idea of a cool school project. He wanted to get the kids (grades K-6th) to build the local courthouse out of PEZ candy and to get into the Book of World records. There was a problem with that, but that didn't stop Chuck from the class project.
With the help of PEZ Candy, PEZ Collectors News was able to sponsor this project and it was underway.
The base of the building is 4’ x 5’ and the building stands at least 4’ tall. Close to 9,000 candy packs were used to make this historic building.
It is a work of art. These pictures do not show all of the hard work they put into this school project. They did the project during their free time during the day and near the end of the school year they had to work more hours just to get it done before the end of the school year. Great job guys it’s something to be very proud of!
